MARILIZE BOTHA – OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

I was born here in Linden and grew up in the area. I completed my Degree at the University of Pretoria. After my community service year in Potchefstroom I returned to my home city. I started my formal career working at a special needs school in the mornings and in private practice in the afternoons. In 2012 I started my own practice. I am married to a wonderful husband and we have three amazing little ones that keep us quite occupied.
I furthered my studies which includes Ayres Sensory integration, Therapeutic Listening, Tomatis Listening Therapy, as well as Interactive Metronome. I am currently busy with another post graduate qualification, namely DIR Floortime.
CAITLYN DELL – OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

I am an occupational therapist, and I am passionate about working with people and helping them reach their full potential through fun, exciting activities.
I grew up on a farm in the Eastern Cape and am the oldest of two daughters in a very close knit family. I always been passionate about working with people so after finishing school in 2010 I moved down to Cape Town to study Occupational Therapy at UCT and I completed my degree in 2014. I then moved back to the Eastern Cape in 2015 to do my community service year in Aliwal North. During this time I was exposed to a lot of paediatric OT and I completed the Infant Sensory Integration Training. In 2016 I moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where I taught English at a Kindergarten. I was privileged to learn about new cultures, travel Asia and experience self-

I am the eldest of two daughters and we are a close family. My parents have always been a stable support in my life and we enjoy spending family time together. I grew up in Johannesburg and went to school in the Linden area. I love living in Johannesburg and 11 years later my school friends are still my best friends. After high school I did a year course at a church that was aimed at knowing yourself and who you were made to be. During this year I discovered my interest in Occupational Therapy. I studied Occupational Therapy at the University of Pretoria. I have always had an interest in paediatrics and as soon as I had finished my community service year in Port Elizabeth, I applied to a paediatric post in my home town. I have been working in this practice for four years now and during this time I have furthered my studies in Ayers Sensory Integration, which I am in the process of completing. I am an Advanced DIR Floortime Provider, Interactive Metronome Provider and Tomatis Level 1 Practitioner.
CARIEN HUMAN – COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST
Qualifications: M.Soc.Sc Counselling Psychology (Cum Laude) , Tomatis Sound Therapy Level 1 , Interactive Metronome, First Aid Level 1.
I grew up in Bethlehem and completed my Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of the Free State. My thesis focused on the development of leadership in adolescence. I have been living and working in Johannesburg since 2012 and I stayed, since I met my husband here. Our son, Joshua, was born on 9 October 2015. We love staying in the city and serving in our community. We attend His People Church and we enjoy spending our Saturdays at the Fairlands tennis club.
During my season in Bloemfontein I also completed additional training in play therapy level one and two through Dr. Rinda Blom. I completed an introductory course in Sand Play Therapy with Dr. Barbara Turner, and can therefore use sand play as a therapeutic tool. When working at the University of Johannesburg in 2012, I was also trained in Ego State Therapy and Eriksonian work and Group Therapy. Together with my husband, we have a SOZO inner healing ministry (advanced training completed). I enjoy working with any age group which includes adults (depression, anxiety, etc) and couples (or marital therapy).
CHRISTEL SHARP – COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST
Qualifications: MA Counselling Psychology (NMMU)
I grew up in the Kruger National Park but due to the nature of my father’s work, we relocated frequently. The last few years I lived in the friendly city of Port Elizabeth where I completed my Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. My thesis contributed to the revision of the Griffiths Mental Development Scales, an assessment that measures the development of infants and young children across six domains.

Qualifications: MEd Educational Psychology (UJ)
I grew up in Tzaneen and after finishing school in 2009, I moved to Johannesburg where I completed my Masters Degree in Educational Psychology at the University of Johannesburg. My thesis was a literature study that reviewed projective techniques within the South African context.
Since then, I have completed numerous additional training workshops including an expressive advance play therapy workshop and a teenagers and selfharm workshop. I also attended various Solution Focused therapy workshops with Matthew Selekman and Dr. Jacqui von Cziffra-
Before joining the Therapeace team I worked at a LSEN (special needs school) where I gained experience in working with children and adolescents with different barriers to learning. I have a passion for people and enjoy working with any age group.
MIGNON BOTES – SPEECH THERAPIST
Qualifications: B.Comm.Path (UP), M. ECI (UP), DIR/Floortime Basic Provider (in training), Tiny Handz Intermediate Provider, Tomatis Sound Therapy Level 1, Interactive Metronome Peadiatric Best Practice, PROMPT: introduction to techniques, Hanen SPARK trainer, First Aid Level 1.
I love Joburg! And I have been all over! Pretoria, where I completed my degree as well as my Masters in Early Childhood Intervention; Potchefstroom, where I did my community service year and Bloemfontein, where I worked for the SANDF. I also LOVE what I do! What a privilege to play for work every day, and make a difference in the lives of children.
I am married to the greatest husband (Weitz) and have three wonderful children.
LAUREN NICKLIN – SPEECH-
Qualifications: BA. Speech and Hearing Therapy (WITS), Tiny Handz Intermediate Provider
I graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2015 and completed my community service at Standerton hospital, Mpumalanga. In 2017 I worked as an audiologist at an ENT practice and as an independent speech therapist in Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. But as we all know, home is where the heart is! So after embarking on a two year adventure, I returned to my loved ones in Johannesburg and joined the Therapeace team! I am passionate about working with children and absolutely love my job.
CHARISSA VAN NIEKERK – SPEECH THERAPIST
Qualifications: B. Communication Pathology: Speech-
I am a smalltown girl from the Free State and joined the “Big city life” this year. I am very passionate about my profession and rather see my work as a calling. I have an animated personality and love working with all kinds of people especially paediatrics and special needs.
I am engaged to be married with the love of my life (Christopher) and have two beautiful furry children named Misty and Schmidty.
